Diver navigatingWhen you're underwater, knowing where you are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater.

The aim of this specialty course is to train divers with the necessary exercises, knowledge, planning, organisation, techniques and procedures to ensure that they can navigate with ease during their dives. Naturally this will increase the enjoyment of the dive and add to the diver's self confidence.

Unfortunately it is often the case that divers are sometimes completely unaware of their positions underwater. This is usually due to a lack of self-confidence and knowledge.

How much fun could it be to be lead in a group of 15 divers, and the only way to find your back is to follow the instructor? Wouldn't it be more fun to fathom the depths with only yourself and your dive partner?

What will I need to start?
PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization). Minimum age 10 years.

What will I do?
During your PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course, you'll learn underwater navigation dive procedures, techniques, planning, organization and potential problems. You'll also be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns, distance estimation and further your compass navigation skills. You'll put these into practice during your three open water dives.

Compass and computerHow long will it take?
You could complete the course in as little as one day.

What is included?
Air refills, certification card and course materials (if appropriate). Equipment is not included. If you do not own your own set of equipment, we recommend that you buy, rent or borrow it.

When do the courses run?
Courses are organized according to demand, with groups of three or more people. It is possible to schedule the course on a private basis at additional cost.

Where do I go from here?
You can credit this course as one of the five specialities required for the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. At your instructor's discretion this course may also be credited towards the Adventure Dive requirements for either the Advanced Open Water or Advanced Open Water Plus courses. Further speciality courses are also recommended to increase your knowledge and experience in other aspects of diving that may appeal to you.
