When you go night diving you'll see a whole new world. Even your local dive site takes on a new personality at night, as many underwater creatures and plant life (different from those you see during the day) are active at night.
What will I need to start? PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization). Minimum age 10 years.
What will I do? You'll learn night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to control your buoyancy, navigate and communicate at night. Since many of the plants and animals you'll see are different, you'll also get an introduction to nocturnal aquatic life.
How long will it take? You could complete the course in as little as one day.
What is included? Air refills, certification card and course materials (if appropriate). Equipment is not included. If you do not own your own set of equipment, we recommend that you buy, rent or borrow it.
When do the courses run? Courses are organized according to demand, with groups of three or more people. It is possible to schedule the course on a private basis at additional cost.
Where do I go from here? You can credit this course as one of the five specialities required for the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. At your instructor's discretion this course may also be credited towards the Adventure Dive requirements for either the Advanced Open Water or Advanced Open Water Plus courses. Further speciality courses are also recommended to increase your knowledge and experience in other aspects of diving that may appeal to you. |
