Even if you've never dived before it can be a reassuring experience to talk to others who have recently learnt to dive, or even others who are thinking about it. If you decide that diving is something you might like to do you might have a chance to meet your instructors or fellow class mates at the same time.
Maybe you’re a seasoned diver, but you've just moved here and you'd like to meet locals who can show you a few sites? Maybe you've been inactive for a long time and want to find out how to get back into it? Or maybe you'd just like to learn first-hand about some of the activities that we offer.
Attending a meet-and-greet event is not difficult, requires no registration in advance, and does not involve any financial outlay or commitment beyond what you choose to eat and drink. The only physical exertion required is to lift a beer glass.
How often does this happen?
During the warmer parts of the year we usually hold this event semi-regularly, which means every 3-5 weeks. During the colder months of the year this may extend out to once every two months, depending on the level of interest shown. We try to choose a different day of the week each time, so that those of you who have fixed weekly appointments can make it from time to time.
When will the next one happen?
As always, please check the schedule for the exact details. If you don't see it in the schedule then there probably isn't one scheduled - in this case keep checking the schedule or make sure you are signed up to our mailing list to ensure that you are notified.
Where does it take place?
Usually these events are held at the Nooba at Kreuzplatz 5, 8032 Zurich. You can find a map and more precise details about the venue (like the free parking) by visiting their website. Please note that the venue usually is the Nooba, but we reserve the right to change this from time to time, in which case we will note this on the schedule or to the mailing list.
When should I come?
Unless otherwise stated we generally get there from 19:00 and stay until around 22:00 - 22:30 depending on how many people show up.
How will I find you?
Good question. Best way is to walk around and listen for a group of people mostly speaking in English and talking about diving. Sometimes we leave diving books lying on the table to make it easier for you to spot us. One day, if we ever get around to it, we may get some Zurich Divers t-shirts printed which might help you find us. Don't worry - nobody has ever really had a problem finding us before. If you still don't feel confident that you'll find us on the night just contact us in advance and ask for a mobile number.
Is there anything else I should know?
Not really. You don't have to register, but if you do send us a quick email or SMS in advance to let us know that you are coming it gives us a good idea as to how much space to reserve for our group.
