Lake Police Tour PDF Print E-mail

Have you ever wondered how Zurich's Lake Police do their job? Now you have the chance to get a comprehensive overview of both their facilities and the services they offer.

How much does this cost?

Nothing. It is a service provided to the public, as long as there is a group of 10-25 people.

Are there any pre-requisites?

None.

ImageWhat will we do?

The tour includes the following activities:

  • Film about Zurich's Lake Police
  • Information about diving, including a visit to the diving museum
  • Information about environmental protection
  • Visit to the boat-building yard (cabinet making/joining, painting, locksmith)
  • Boat trip to the regional watch post at Mythenquai
  • Tour of the watch post followed by boat trip back to the starting point

How long does it take?

The whole experience will take around 3 hours.

What time and day will it usually run?

On an evening, from 19:00, starting at either Tiefenbrunnen or Mythenquai.

When does the next event happen?

As always, please check the schedule for the next event. If you don't see it in the schedule then there probably isn't one scheduled - in this case keep checking the schedule or make sure you are signed up to our mailing list to ensure that you are notified. We require a minimum of 10 people, and we must give advance notice of 2 weeks. Therefore we need an early commitment from people in order to run this event. If you don't see anything scheduled please let us know and if there is enough interest we can schedule it as required.

Which language will be the tour be in?

Since cantonal government believes very strongly in the concept of "Amtsprache" there is unlikely to be any thought given to any languages other than German. We will endeavour to ask if the spoken parts of the tour can be done in English, and if not one of us will translate during the tour.
